Munch Stenersen

Grindaker took part in the competion for the new Munch Stenersen museum in Oslo in 2009.
A new waterfront park weaves a new connective cultural tissue of interlacing pathways, bridges, and vegetated surfaces, uniting the Opera and Museum institutions with native planting, public wet and dry scenes, beach and hardscape. This park synthesizes the movements of the pedestrians, vehicles, and water activities, establishing a flexible pattern for sustainable and creative use in all seasons.

Structured in broad strokes across the site, a clean mix of grass and bright red, orange and yellow coloured flowers and leaves, evokes the chromatic range of Munch’s palette in “The Scream” to make ephemeral seasonal alignments between the artist’s work and this new culturescape.
